As a filmmaker, Juliana is interested in narratives that explore themes of identity and the subconscious, and she is especially drawn to suspenseful dramas and psychological horror films.

 

Juliana was born in Winter Haven, Florida, though she grew up in Kansas and also spent time in Taiwan with her mother’s family. Her proudest achievement is earning her B.A. from the University of Chicago in Art History and Cinema & Media Studies. After graduating, Juliana worked as a teacher in South Korea for three years before returning to the U.S. to pursue an MFA in Film Production at Florida State University’s College of Motion Picture Arts, where she specialized in Directing. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the piano and harp, visiting museums, and traveling. Juliana is now based in Los Angeles, California.
